Buddhist Education At BISDS
Buddhist Education
At BISDS
“Learning Dhamma is not about gaining book knowledge. The true and real purpose of learning is to gain personal development, of enriching the minds and cultivating the spiritual side of our being”.
The Late Ven Dr. K. Sri Dhammananda Nayaka Maha Thera

A Buddhist Education At BISDS
There are five key elements that form the foundation of Buddhist Education at BISDS. These elements work best when they are closely connected and support one another.

Organizational Purpose
Curriculum
Learning
Teaching
Assessment
"Education works best when organization purpose, curriculum, teaching, learning and assessment are closely aligned."
BISDS Curriculum
The curriculum is a structured plan that includes learning content, activities, and experiences to help guide students’ learning. It explains what will be taught, how it will be taught, and what students should learn within a specific time frame. It acts as a roadmap for teachers and students, making sure that learning goals are clear and consistent.
BISDS Curriculum embraces a holistic approach to fostering the all-encompassing development of students:
- Study, Practise and Self-Realised the Dhamma
- Development of Life Skills
- Cultivate Good Social Relations and Spiritual Friendships
BISDS Learner Attributes
In BISDS, our educational philosophy reflects a broader educational approach that values the development of the whole person, preparing students not just for academic success but for lives that are fulfilling and meaningful. Through our Buddhist educational programs, we aim to cultivate learners who embody the following attributes. These attributes arise from a combination of values, attitudes, knowledge and skills.
