SCHOOL SONG

BISDS

* BISDS
Maha Vihara
From under the Bodhi
To greatness we have grown

Buddhist Institute
Sunday Dhamma School
We learn the Dhamma
Of the truth Buddha unfold

Leading the way
We strive on and on
So confident and brave
That none shall ever fall

Panna Udapadi
Wisdom appeared
By you we are guided
Through a changing world

BISDS
Where we all should be
By overcoming Greed
Hatred Delusion

BISDS
Wisdom appears behold
By you we are guided
Through a changing world

BISDS
Wisdom appears behold
By you we are guided
Through a changing world*
(Repeat the whole song from * to *)

Welcome one and all
Come on in and see
Let’s all together
Be happy Wisdom gain
Welcome one and all
Come on in and see
Let’s all together
Be happy Wisdom gain.

The Buddhist Institute Sunday Dhamma School Song known as "BISDS" was composed to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the school. It reflects the School's history, direction, achievements and vision and is also simple in lyrics, emphasising the School Motto "Panna Udapadi" which means Wisdom Appears thus leading the school and its components through this World of change.

" It gently encourages us to learn the Dhamma which the Buddha unfolded and strive on to the final attainment of Nibbanic Bliss. The message of overcoming greed, hatred and delusion, will deliver us from suffering pain now and in the future.

There is emphasis and welcome for all to join the BISDS as student or as a member of the volunteer staff. The staff who serve dedicatedly with commitment proudly hold the BISDS banner of "Panna Udapadi" in this Buddha Sasana.

The BISDS Maha Vihara Brickfields Kuala Lumpur has grown from under the Bodhi tree, to what we are now in greatness, that is unbounded. The Knowledge and hapiness it had planted will lead the future generation with stronger faith and determination. To Greatness we will grow, on and on, confident and brave, helping one another together on our way, never falling from the path that our Lord Buddha showed us. May we be well and happy and attain our final salvation of Nibanna. "
